On May 6, 1978, Paradise Baptist Church was organized in the home of founding pastor, Reverend and Mrs. Stan Robinson. There were thirteen initial members.
On June 6, 1978, the body petitioned the Progressive Baptist Association for organization, recognition, and acceptance. The constitution, doctrine, and by-laws in which the New Testament principles are formulated were adopted. Upon acceptance, we began to officially operate as a church, namely, “Paradise Baptist Church.”
During the first three years, by the grace of God, we were able to furnish our church with pews, pulpit furniture, office furniture, a piano, an organ, sound system, new hymnals, robes for our choir, carpeting for the entire church, and a down payment toward the purchasing of our building. God has blessed us tremendously through the years. Each year we have made improvements to our church.
In 1994, our Pastor and Founder, Rev. Stan Robinson, was called home from labor to reward. In 1995, Rev. Melvin Darden became our new Pastor and remained for approximately two years. In February 1997, and to this date, we are blessed to have Rev. Dr. Booker T. Kindred, Jr. as our Pastor.
